Skills Acquired

  1. Know the basic principles of electricity and use it in carrying out day to day duties as Wireman.

  2. Significant differences between conductive, insulating and insulating materials will be communicated and used properly.

  3. Use various accessories of wiring system and repair or replace it if required.

  4. Prepare wiring circuits.

  5. Create suitable joints for the wires used in the wiring system.

  6. In compliance with Indian Electricity Rules and International Standard Code and shall perform such household and industrial wiring.
  7. Will prepare cost estimates for wiring work from the given layout and diagram.

  8. Will ground electrical installations and equipment and measure earth resistance.

  9. Arrange, repair and maintain household electrical appliances.

  10. Connect the given machines by arranging different motors and also connect the controls, switches and starters required for that.

  11. Understand the usefulness of the Alternator, transformer and D. C. generator.

  12. Measuring instruments like voltmeter, emitter, and energy meter will be connected to the electrical circuit and its observation will be recorded.

  13. Measure the current through a clip-on meter.

  14. Wiring of different panels with controlling, starting and metering equipment, will be based on the I. E. rules. 

  15. Connect, repair and maintain various industrial light fitting and street light fittings.             

  16. Rules of precaution to keep electricity during work will know the treatment to be given during mourning and immediate treatment.

  9. Assembler in the domestic appliances manufacturing factories. 

Self-employment Option

  1. Can start its own business as a wireman or as an electrical contractor in the construction sector.

  2. Can start small workshop for electrical household equipment repair.

  3. Achieve self-employment even with or without financial assistance from a bank or cottage industries related technician programs in the related field.
